Family Phyllariaceae

Phyllariaceae Tilden, 1935: 260.

Original publication: Tilden, J.E. (1935). The algae and their life relations. pp. [i]-xii, [1]-550. Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press.

Nomenclatural notes:

"Although Silva (1980: 73, Regnum Vegetabile, Vol. 103) stated that "The authorship of this family name is difficult to ascertain", he credited "Hamel ex Petrov (1974, p. 153) with its authorship. However, Tilden (1935) clearly described the "familia nova" Phyllariaceae in 1935 (1937, second edition)." M. Wynne, 16 Nov. 2012.
