Description: Noncalcareous crust, epiphytic or epilithic. Basal layer bearing uniseriate filaments, loosely adjoined, unbranched or sparingly branched to two orders. Rhizoids and cuticle lacking. Female reproductive structures undescribed. One or two spermatangia produced by terminal cells of erect filaments. Tetrasporophyte isomorphic. Tetrasporangia cruicate, attached basally, borne terminally on erect filaments just below or at surface of thallus. Spore germination: diprotocellular type.
