Abstract:
This study deals with the fl oristic survey of Trebouxiophyceae
from Marimbus Wetlands, Environmental Protection Area Marimbus - Iraquara, Chapada
Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil. The samples from the periphyton and plankton were collected in
two areas of the Marimbus Wetlands (Baiano and Remanso) during the dry season (April,
June and August 2011) and rainy season (October, December 2011 and February 2012). 21
taxa were recorded, 17 belonging to Chlorellales and four to Trebouxiales. Of these, 10 are
additions to the phycofl ora of Bahia: Choricystis minor (Skuja) Fott var. minor, Closteriopsis
longissima (Lemmer.) Lemmer, Hindakia tetrachotoma (Printz) C. Bock, Pröschold &
Krienitz, Mychonastes elegans (Bachmann) Krienitz, C. Bock, Dadheech & Pröschold,
Nephrocytium agardhianum Nägeli, N. allantoideum Bohlin, N. limneticum (G.M.Sm.)
G.M.Sm, N. schilleri (Kammerer) Comas, and one for Brazil (Trochiscia aciculifera
(Lagerh.) Hansgirg. Nephrocytium allantoideum was re-described and illustrated for Brazil
118 years after the proposition of Bohlin.
