Description: Thallus erect, subdichotomously branched. Determinate branchlets 3-5 per axial cell, often unequal in length with 3 branches from larger basal cell and terminal stalked hairs. With or without gland cells on outer branchlets. Procarps 1-3 on reduced branchlets near branch apices, carposporangia in rounded groups. Spermatangia terminal on special short branches on basal cells of branchlets. Tetrasporangia sessile on cells of branchlets.

Comments: Known only from southern Australia, epiphytic on larger algae, occasionally on rocks. The type species has been recorded periodically as a dense, free-floating "bloom" of tetrasporic plants.
