Description: Mucilaginous crust. Basal layer 1-2 cells thick, giving rise to erect unbranched filaments of cells of nearly uniform dimensions, loosely united by mucilage. Rhizoids absent. Female and male reproductive structures unknown. Tetrasporangia small, obliquely cruciate, borne laterally on erect filaments.

Comments: Subtidal. North Atlantic Ocean: Norway, British Isles, Helgoland, western Baltic Sea, Newfoundland, Maine. This genus may be synonymous with Cruoriopsis.
