Description: Thallus small, parasitic, with numerous fertile filaments arising from a basal cushion of radiating cells.Procarps near apex of filaments, carposporophytes with globose groups of carposporangia protected by involucre. Spermatangia appearing as small-celled crust. Tetrasporangia immersed in cortex of cushion in 4 rows, tetrahedrally divided. Parasitic on Gelidium cartilagineum (L) Gaill.
