Taxonomic status: currently recognized as a distinct genus.
Description: Cuneate, lacerate to di- to polychotomously divided, with a distinct stipe. Margin of blade with stalked orbiculate proliferations. Medulla of isodiametric cells, relatively short-celled filaments, and rhizoidal filaments. Stellate and refractive cells present. Cortex relatively thin. Cortical cells isodiametric to elliptical, progressively smaller toward cuticle. Female reproductive structures developing in marginal proliferations. A single 3-celled carpogonial branch borne on each suppporting cell. Auxiliary cell borne on a different branch system. Cystocarps immersed. Spermatangia and tetrasporangia undescribed.
Comments: Subtidal. Known only from the Sea of Okhotsk.
