Description: Thallus small, erect with alternate-distichously branched uncorticated axes. Cells uninucleate.Procarps on sub-terminal cells of axes. Carpogonial branch, 4-celled on first of 3 pericentral cells, also with sterile lateral cell. Fusion occurs between fertilized carpogonium and third pericentral cell or supporting cell which acts as auxiliary cell. Large fusion cell formed from subapical cell, hypogenous cell and first and third pericentral cells. Carposporophyte with successive angular groups of carposporangia. Involucre lacking. Spermatangia in distinct heads. Tetrasporangia abaxial on branchlets, tetrahedrally divided.
