Holotype species: Codonodendron ocellatum Pascher

Original publication: Pascher, A. & Vlk, W. (1943). Zur Kenntnis der Chrysophyceen des salzhaltigen Flachmoores Hrabanow bei Lissa a. E.. Lotus 88: 163-177.

Description: Cells colorless, but with a reduced stigma, with one flagellum; by a contractile stalk fastened to the bottom of a vase-shaped lorica. The loricas are arranged in dendroid colonies, as in Dinobryon. Stomatocyst and reproduction not known. Epiphytic on filamentous algae. Found only in Czechoslovakia.
