Original publication and holotype designation: Pascher, A. & Vlk, W. (1943). Zur Kenntnis der Chrysophyceen des salzhaltigen Flachmoores Hrabanow bei Lissa a. E.. Lotus 88: 163-177.

Description: Cells ovoid or pyriform, a little asymmetric, with thinwalls, united (mostly 2-4 together) in small colonies surrounded by a common, somewhat layered jelly. Cell with one parietal chloroplast. Reproduction by 2-4 autospores, zoospores and stomatocysts unknown. Found on aquatic plants in turf pits in Bohemia.
