Description: Unicellular free-swimming flagellates with single trailing flagellum inserted anteriorly. Cells not metabolic, broadly ellipsoidal. Length of flagellum 2-3 times cell length. Cell movement creeping, not rotating. Two green chloroplasts inserted anteriorly. Pyrenoids absent. A large stigma present in the posterior part of the cell, in the single illustration provided drawn at a considerable distance from the chloroplasts. Contractile vacuoles not seen. The illustration provided indicate that the 'eyespot' is probably not a true eyespot. It is possible that the cells belong to a species of Pedinomonas in which the chloroplast has replicated but the identity of the genus is very uncertain.
