Description: Valves circular, valve areolae not separated by costa, weakly fasciculate. Mantle areolae not fasciculate, relatively fine. External projections regularly placed at the junction of the valve and mantle, each composed of an occluded process fused at its base to a fultoportula; one rimoportula present, emplaced between fultoportulae. Central fultoportulae lacking. Found in warm, eutrophic freshwater plankton of Lake Barnwell Co., South Carolina, USA, (an artifical impoundment used as a cooling pond for a nuclear power reactor).
