Halurina Zimmermann, 1918

Holotype species: Halurina itaparicana C.Zimmermann

Description: Frustule more or less rectangular with 2 distinct, undulate partitions (septa ?) in girdle view. Valves lanceolate with cuneate-acute apices, ca. 50 &m long and 9 &m wide near the center of the valve; striae (14 in 10 &m) composed large pores, striae interrupted near the junction of valve face and mantle. This poorly described genus has only been reported by Zimmermann from the type location, the shore of Itaparica, an island off the coast of Brazil.
