Description: Free-swimming, biflagellate monads, dorsiventrally asymmetric, obovoid with the anterior strongly compressed; flagella unequal, about one-half the length of the cell; with numerous small green chloroplasts; nucleus central; single anterior contractile vacuole; lacking starch grains. A little known freshwater genus recorded only from standing water near Harbin, northern Manchuria, China. It differs from Cryptomonas in the possession of multiple chloroplasts.
