Description: Cells globose, forming calcareous aggregations. Chloroplast axial, stellate, with one pyrenoid. Methods of reproduction and flagellated stages unknown. Conradia, known only from the type locale in Belgium, is of questionable validity given the incomplete nature of the original description. Bourrelly (1966) suggests that it might be a species of Oocystis A. Braun, Trebouxia Puymaly or Oocardium Nägeli.

Gender: This genus name is currently treated as feminine.
