Description: Colonies obovoid with slightly flattened apical region, containing 64 cells arranged on the periphery, without common gelatinous matrix. Cells polyhedral, each with two equal flagella, a stigma, two contractile vacuoles at base of flagella and a massive chloroplast without pyrenoids that completely fills the cell cavity. Cells joined by gelatinous pads between laterally protruded regions of cells. Reproduction unknown.

Gender: This genus name is currently treated as feminine.

Comments: Lundiella indica, the only known species, has bee collected only once from a temporary pond in India.
