Description: Unicellular flagellates with two equal anterior flagella. The cell rounded, hardly flattened, metabolic. The periplast rugose or with small spines. The chloroplasts parietal, with several pyrenoids. Stigma present in one species. The three known species differ in cell size and shape, in periplast structure and in presence or absence of stigma and contractile vacuoles. Very poorly known genus described from fresh water in Hongkong and Brazil.
