Description: Trichomes of varying length, solitary, free-floating, straight, more-or-less constricted at the cell-walls. Terminal cells conical. Vegetative cells with aerotopes, cylindrical, compressed during division. Heterocytes only intercalary, solitary, spherical, or slightly elongated. Akinetes widely ovoid (length:width ratio 1.2–2.5), with brownish or yellow–brown epispore, distant heterocytes.
