Description: Cells solitary, disc-shaped in girdle view rectangular. Valves circular slightly convex, ornamented with irregularly arranged fine puncta, middle part of the valve face structureless. The valve margin in LM with short radial striae. In SEM valve face solid, valve mantle structured with regularly spaced slits. Along the internal edge of the valve margin, in LM resolvable, openings of the strutted processes are observed.
