Discodinium P.-A.Dangeard, 1938

Holotype species: Discodinium pouchetii P.A.Dangeard

Original publication and holotype designation: Dangeard P.[-A.] (1938). Mémoire sur la famille des Péridiniens. Le Botaniste 29: 3-181.

Description: Unicellular flagellates with cell wall of cellulosic plates, only known by it's author. Plate formula unknown but shape, habitat, and many morphological details identical to that of the type species of Coolia. Therefore it is here regarded as taxonomic synonym of Coolia Meunier 1919.
