Description: Free-living unicells medium-sized (10-115 µm) and spindle-shaped. Cingulum displaced to the antapex, thus the hypocone very small, sulcus extending onto the epicone near to the apex. A conspicuous "rhabdosome" needs ultrastructural investigation. Chloroplasts present, phototrophic, but expulsion of "accumulation body" or fecal material has been observed. Marine planktonic, apparently cosmopolitan. Emended description (Gómez et al., 2016: 229).
