Request PDFDescription: Phagotrophic and biflagellate protists of pyriform shape with the flagella emerging on opposite sides of a short protruding antapical rostrum. A food vacuole may be located anteriorly at the stout end of cell, in front of the centro-lateral large nucleus. Food uptake in a depression in the antero-ventral region. A characteristic band of vesicles is located laterally. Cell with tubulocristate mitochondria and with a characteristic subcortical lamina of microtubules supporting layers of microfilaments oriented at an angle to each other.
