Description: Thallus erect, axes with whorls of 2-4 usually unequal determinate branchlets on each cell. Branch apices curved with irregular initiation of branchlets. Gland-cells lateral on branchlets. Procarps on basal (supporting) cells of branchlets which continue to elongate. Auxiliary cell leading to carposporophyte with rounded groups of carposporangia. Spermatangia on special short branches. Tetrasporangia on lower cells of branchlets, cruciately or tetrahedrally divided. Characterized by continued elongation of fertile branch and branchlet to give several carposporophytes at intervals along axes. Also differs from Antithamnionella in unequal branchlets.
