Description: Valves circular to linear-elliptic. Valve face flat, turning gradually in the shallow mantle. Raphe filiform, internally running on elevated raphe sternum, straight. External central endings simple, usually expanded, apical endings simple, bulbous, terminating at some distance below apices. Transapical striae punctate, sometimes arranged in quinqunx. Areolae externally covered by vela, internally occluded with hymenes.
