Description: Unarmoured dinoflagellates whose major carotenoid is fucoxanthin, 19'-hexanoyl-oxyfucoxanthin and/or 19'-butanoyl-oxyfucoxanthin. Cell nucleus without nuclear envelope chambers and nuclear capsule. Apical groove straight.
