Description: Thallus of prostrate axes with erect branches to several cm high, monosiphonous, subdichotomously branched, ecorticate. Cells multinucleate. Gametophytes unknown. Sporophyte bearing spherical polysporangia and multicellular propagules. In the type specimen 2-celled propagules and polysporangia containing 8 spores are borne in axils of branch dichotomies.

Comments: Grows on low sandstone rocks and flats covered with coarse sand, 4-5 m deep. Recorded in late winter from Victoria, Australia, at Portsea Pier, Port Phillip Bay (type collection) and from Flinders Pier, Western Port Bay.
