The type species (lectotype) of the genus Lagerheimia is Lagerheimia genevensis (Chodat) Chodat.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lagerheimia marssonii Lemmermann.

Adjective (Latin), smaller, inferior, lesser (Stearn 1973).
