Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Eunotia is Eunotia arcus Ehrenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Eunotia exigua (Brébisson ex Kützing) Rabenhorst.

Type locality: "In einem Graben auf der Eule in einer Höhe von gegen 3000 Fuß, gesammelt Anfang October 1860. Rabenh. Dec. 107 und 108" [Wielka Sowa, Poland]; (Hilse 1861: 79) Lectotype (designated by Van de Vijver & Lange-Bertalot 2022: 2): BR; Slide BR-4709 (Van de Vijver & Lange-Bertalot 2022: 2) Notes: Van de Vijver & Lange-Bertalot (2022: 2) note: "BR-4709, slide prepared from Rabenhorst sample 1167, G?ry Sowie [Eulengebirge], Poland, leg. F.W. Hilse, original material present in the Van Heurck collection (BR). The lectotype is represented by Fig. 56."
