Type locality: Approximately 1 km off the coast near Tuxpam, Mexico (20º58'N, 97º24'W); (Lundholm & Moestrup 2002: 596) Holotype: 27 February 1998; Botanical Musem, University of Copenhagen, Denmark; A-type labelled 'Pseudo-nitzschia galaxiae Lundhom & Moestrup', culture Mex 23 (Lundholm & Moestrup 2002: 596) Notes: Holotype: Fig. 1 (of the Mex 23 culture). Duplicate material has been deposited at the Department of Biology, University of Oslo, Norway.
