Type locality: ‘Ad capitas Van-Diemen’ littora [Cape Van Diemen, south-eastern Tasmania) (Labillardière 1807: 113). Type: FI (Womersley 1987: 396). Notes: Silva et al. (1996) recommend consulting Ducker (1979: 20) for more information on the type locality of this species.
