Type locality: Spring Creek, Port Phillip Heads, Victoria, Australia; (Womersley 1998: 201) Holotype: Wilson; LD; herb. alg. Agardh 18201 (Womersley 1998: 201) Notes: Womersley (1998: 201) notes that Spring Creek enters the sea at Torquay, some 40 km W of Port Phillip Heads.
