Type locality: California [Monterey, Monterey Co., California, USA; fide Hughey & Hommersand 2008: 145] (Harvey 1833: 164). Type: November 1827; (Hughey & Hommersand 2008: 145). Notes: According to John Parnell, curator of the herbarium at TCD, thye type is not to be found there (Hughey & Hommersand 2008: 145).
