Adjective (Latin), needle-shaped (Stearn 1973).

This is a marine species.
Type locality: "Mochhae" (Al Mukha), Yemen (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 147). Holotype: P. Forrskål; C 874 (Dawson 1953: 83). Notes: Dawson (1953: 83): Holotype is Forsskål's original specimen (illustrated by Børgensen).
