Type locality: East of Moutons Island (47º46'459" N, 04º01'281" W), Glénan Archipelago, Concarneau Bay, France; (Chomérat, Loir & Nézan 2009: 73) Holotype: Fig. 19: M. Loir; 13 September 2003; Top 3-5 mm of sandy sediment in the marine littoral zone (5-13 m depth); IFREMER, Concarneau, France; SEM preparation no. 08-B3 (from sample no. 386) (Chomérat, Loir & Nézan 2009: 73) Notes: Isotype: Lugol-preserved preparation (Sample no. 386) deposited at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (USM 505), Paris, France (Figs 9, 10, 17, 18).

Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), covered with small wart-like outgrowths (Stearn 1973).
