Hello, I have come across three very old herbarium sheets in our UMO collection, of Nitella missouriensis Allen. All three sheets are labeled "Type specimen," and were collected March 21, 1890, with "location unrecorded" typed on the label. "Type specs" is handwrittten on one of the small sheets, but there are four more sheets in a large fragment envelope attached to one of the other two sheets.

I see from your database that this taxon has been lectotypified, but thought you might like this information.

General Environment
This is a freshwater species.
