Type locality: Amber Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India; (Krienitz et al. 2011: 103) Holotype: Pond on foothills of the Amber Fort; Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban , Scotland; Cryopreserved material of the authentic strain CCAP 260/9 (Krienitz et al. 2011: 103) Notes: Isotype: an air-dried and a formaldehyde-fixed sample of strain CCAP 260/9, deposited at the Botanical Museum at Berlin-Dahlem (B40 0040681). Iconotype: Fig. 9 (Krienitz et al. 2011).
