Type Information
Lectotype locality: Lossiemouth, Scotland.; Lectotype: Brodie; no date; TCD; (Dixon & Price 1981: 131) Notes: Syntype localities: Forres, coll. Brodie; Northumberland, coll. Robertson; Torquay, Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Cutler. Other material; TCD, three specimens, LD, Herb.Alg. Agardh 19018, 19025. GL, two specimens. Comments: The original treatment contains two curious misstatements. The Brodie specimens were collected at Lossiemouth according to Brodie’s annotation, not at Forres, which was where he lived and is a few kilometers from the sea. The Northumberland specimen is annotated as having been collected by “Mr Robinson" whereas the collector was quoted as “Mr. Robertson" in the published text.
