This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Platychara perlata (R.E.Peck & Reker) Grambast .

Peru: Puno, Vilquechico formation, 1 km southeast of Vilque Chico (as "Vilquechico"). Paratype from 4 km east-southeast of Putina, Puno, PerĂº; (Peck & Reker 1947: 4) Holotype: Norman D. Newell; AMNH; 26407:1 (Peck & Reker 1947: 4)
