This is a marine species.
Holotype locality: Botanical Beach, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada (Lindstrom et al. 2011: 677). Holotype: Fig. 15 (leftmost specimen): Patrick T. Martone (PTM 184); 11 July 2010; on mid intertidal bedrock with Fucus distichus subsp. evanescens and Saccharina sessilis. UBC A88570 (Lindstrom et al. 2011: 677).
