Type locality: Thar Desert Rajasthan, India (Dadheech et al. 2012: 263). Holotype: summer 2001; desert biological crust. Herbarium at the Botanical Museum at Belin, Dahlem, Germany PD2001/Tcd17^TT deposited in CCAP (CCAP 1420/4^T) and BISR, Jaipur, India (BISR/CYANO/61^T).
