Type locality: Sweden: Uppland: Sabysjon; Valloxen; (Index Nominum Algarum) Lectotype: fig. 4 in pl. XXII in Skuja (1948): see below (epitype) (Bentley et al. 2012: 734) Notes: Epitype (Karnkowska-Ishikawa et al. 2012: 734, fig. 1, b and k): Permanently preserved material (cells in resin, for EM) from strain SAG 1224-32 deposited at the Herbarium of the Biology Faculty at the Univ. of Warsaw.
