Type locality: dwarf mango forest located between Mowry and Military canals east from the L31E levee near Biscayne Bay, Florida, U.S.A. (25°28'24.3"N, 80°20'45.8"W); (Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007: 433) Holotype: in material scraped from artificial substrata and in periphyton mats; ANSP; slide ANSP G.C 5794 (Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007: 433, fig. 182) Notes: Isotype: slide CAS222005.
