Type locality: dwarf mangrove forest located between Mowry and Military Canals near Biscayne Bay, Southeast Florida, U.S.A. (25°28'24.3"N, 80°20'45.8"W) (Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007: 405).in periphyton mats and on artificial substrata in dwarf mangrove forest. ANSP slide ANSP G.C 5786 (Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007: 405, fig. 59).
