This name is currently regarded as a taxonomic synonym of Bryothamnion seaforthii (Turner) Kützing
Eponomy
Named for Francis Humberston Mackenzie (1754-1819), 1st Baron Seaforth, Governor of Barbados (1800-1806), during which period he ended slavery and slave killing on the island).
