This is a marine species.
Type locality: New Holland (Western Australia) (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 489). Holotype: Péron; BM (Womersley 2003: 345). Notes: This type locality was first recorded by C. Agardh (1822: 373). Type from “Coast of New Holland” (Péron): probably from SE Australia ; holotype in BM, illustrated by Turner (Womersley, 2003: 345).
