Lectotype locality: Port Fairy, Victoria, Australia (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 497). Lectotype: LD, Herb. Agardh 39142 (Harvey, Alg. Aust. Exsicc. 193D) (Womersley 2003: 297). Notes: This type locality was first recorded by Harvey in Kützing (1864: 13). Isolectotype in MEL, 45810 (Womersley, 2003).
