Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Cyclotella is Cyclotella tecta Håkansson & R.Ross.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pantocsekiella iranica (T.Nejadsattari, S.Kheiri, S.Spaulding & M.Edlund) K.T.Kiss, Ector & E.Ács.
