Type locality: "Hab: In mari Pacifico regnum Chilense alluente praesertim propè Valparaiso à cl. d'Orbigny detecta." [Valparaiso, Chile] (Montagne 1837: 355). Lectotype: d'Orbigny; PC (Mikami 1979: 35).
