Nomen subnudum: "Espèce très-distincte du Byssoïdes". - (10 Dec 2014) - M.D. Guiry
Illegitimate according to Wynne (2014: 102) "The Duchassaing name is a later homonym of Nullipora lichenoides (J. Ellis & Solander) Templeton (1836), which was based on Millepora lichenoides J. Ellis & Solander (1786)." Duchassaing (1850: 32) cited previous descriptions "Sol. Ellis, t. 23, f. 10-12. - Lam. x. Exp. meth., t. 23, f. 10-12." and it is thus difficult to establish whether or not he intended a new name. - (10 Dec 2014) - M.D. Guiry
