Type locality: Rhine near Basel, Switzerland; (Binz & Vischer 1956) Notes: Lectotype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): Fig. 3 4b in Binz and Vischer (1956). Epitype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): An authentic strain CCAP 415/1 permanently cryopreserved in metabolically inactive state (cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen) in CCAP, SAMS, Scotland.
